I have published a new pattern called Marlon hat. It’s named after our new kitten, who napped on my lap most of the time it took to knit the hat. Also the Yarn Collective’s new Hudson Worsted is quite as soft as kittens.
My beloved and trusted Skiff hat had already seen its best days and the time came to find a replacement for it. My favorite thing about the Skiff hat was the long folded, so I knew I wanted that on my new hat as well. At first I was just going to knit another Skiff, but then I got the chance to test The Yarn Collective’s new worsted weight yarn, Hudson Worsted, and I knew I wanted to design something with it.
Hudson Worsted is curated by Michele wang who is known for her amazing cabled creations. And yes, the yarn is just perfect for cabled textures! The stitch definition is really beautiful and the yarn is smooth and just stretchy enough for snuggly fitting hats.
The Marlon hat comes in two sizes: women’s medium and men’s medium. Each size comes with two options for the length of the brim, so you can choose a shorter one or a longer one that you can fold double for extra warmth and cozyness.
